This recipe is a crowd pleaser. It can be changed up depending on what is in your fridge and what you are in the mood for eating. We have changed it and made it our own over the years. Our recipe has more eggs and cheese than the original. It has been brought to many a mom’s groups and bible studies. While it doesn’t get a high rating, it does get high ranks from people that like an egg casserole. Our rating system is simply one approval per member of the family.

Gei’s Egg Casserole

Servings: 1 9 x13 pan

Equipment

  • 1 9×13 pan
  • 1 pan

Ingredients

  • 1 lb breakfast sausage
  • 8 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 tsp dry mustard
  • 6 slices white bread cubed
  • 1 1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese

Instructions

  • saute sauge and drain
  • beat eggs and milk
  • add salt and mustard
  • grease 9 x13 baking dish
  • layer the bread, sausage and cheese
  • pour egg mixture over bread, sausage and cheese
  • cover and refrigerate overnight
  • bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes uncovered.
  • Change cheese or meat for a completely different flavor. Substitution ideas, sautéed mushrooms, procuito, parmesan, spinach or Swiss.
