Praline French Toast

Servings: 1 9x13 pan

Equipment

  • 1 9x13 pan
  • 1 small pot

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread slice
  • 8 eggs
  • 2 cups half and half
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg;
  • 1 pinch salt
  • TOPPING
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Instructions

  • In a grease 13x9 baking dish. Arrange bread in 2 overlapping rows.
  • combine eggs, half and half, milk, vanilla, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt
  • pour over bread and cover with foil and refrigerate overnight
  • melt butter in pan over medium heat
  • add the rest of the ingredients and stir constantly until smooth
  • pour over bread
  • bake uncovered for 40 minutes at 350 degrees
