We were looking for something to stock our pantry and we found a recipe on Sratch Pantry that looked good. Not having all the correct ingredients we changed it up a little the results for delicious and I wouldn’t change a thing. Use quick oats instead of breadcrumbs. and use pork and beef for the meatballs

I made it with pork and beef

it froze well

We served with a glazed carrot dish that was super yummy

Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb ground pork
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup instant oatmeal
  • 1 cup diced onion
  • 1 Tbsp fresh ginger
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Sauce
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 1 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 tsp sriracha or chili paste

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees
  • mix meatball ingredients and roll into balls
  • place on baking sheet and bake
  • mix sauce ingredient together on stove and cook until thickened
  • once sauce is done pour over meatballs an continue to bake until done
