We made the recipe all the time when we lived overseas. It was sometimes even a birthday treat at school. We are always on the look out for cute little cookie cutters. It is so delicious that they rarely last through the day. We have adapted it from a recipe from Weelicious.com.
Recipe #9 Graham Crackers 5/5 Days Approval
Graham Crackers
Ingredients
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 cup butter chilled and cubed
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1/4 cub water
Instructions
- preheat over to 350 degrees
- In a food processor combine the first 6 ingredients.
- Add cubed and chilled butter to the mix until it resembles coarse meal.
- Add syrup and water and continue to mix until it all combines
- Remove and shape the dough into a flat disk and place between two pieces of parchment paper.
- Roll dough out until 1/4 inch thick. Use a rolling pin that will measure it so it rolls to exactly 1/4 inch thick
- Cut into shapes and place cookies on a baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes
- Can freeze well. Freeze them raw and bake once taken out of the freezer.
